Security companies and investigative agencies work with positions, times and routes that must be reliable and handled with care. GPS Italia offers the same platform used for fleets, with configurations agreed around your activity and the rules that govern it.
GPS Italia is not a control room and does not replace your organisation’s procedures or emergency numbers. Location tracking must have a legal basis: no tracking of people or vehicles without entitlement.

SOS alarms.
With compatible devices that have an SOS button, the alarm is notified in the app and by email to all the users who can see that device. Panic button and cab alarms are being tested on individual accounts.
Documented investigations.
For investigative agencies we assess a dedicated configuration for analysing recorded movements: tools, access and retention are agreed before activation.
LAWFUL USE FIRST
Sensitive data. Used with care.
Position data reveal habits and movements. Private security and investigations require the Prefect’s licence under Article 134 of the TULPS (Italian public security law); for vehicles used by employees, the GDPR and Article 4 of Law 300/1970 also apply. Fitting a GPS device to someone else’s vehicle without entitlement may break the law.

Can GPS Italia replace our control room?
No. The platform shows positions, history and alarms and sends notifications to authorised users. It does not replace your control room, your operating procedures or emergency numbers.
Who receives an SOS alarm?
All the users who have access to the device, with an in-app notification, a push notification and an email. The platform does not call for rescue.
Can an investigative agency use GPS Italia?
Yes, a licensed agency and for lawful purposes. We assess together a dedicated configuration for analysing recorded movements; tools and conditions are agreed before activation.
Can I locate a person without their knowledge?
Only within the limits allowed by law. Locating people or vehicles without a legal basis may violate privacy rules and other laws: assess each case with your lawyer.
